As my intern, Kyle, and I were looking around for something to photograph I spotted the venerable Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man. I wanted to make him seem imposing, like he was in Ghost Busters. I chose a low camera angle so we were looking up at him. To add to the menacing look I used hard light to cast a long shadow. Remember that the world looks different from various angles. Had I not gotten down low to shoot this 6″ tall plastic toy, it would not have made nearly as fun a final image. Try shooting your kids from your belly to give the pictures an entirely new perspective.
