Last night I attended the Annual Detroit Professional Photographers Association (DPPA) Year End Dinner. It took place on The Infinity Yacht as we cruised. It was a wonderful event and I was able to get caught up with a couple of my fellow photographers. Professional associations, when done properly, are very helpful. DPPA has been a great experience for me as I work grow both my business as well as my photography. You are either learning or falling behind.
I had 6 fellow photographers join me this morning in the studio to learn about Studio Lighting basics. We discussed the process by which I accumulated my current equipment, what I selected and why I choose it. Then we moved on to assembling a portrait lighting setup and took turns shooting. Everyone had a good time. More to come in the future.
